There Is a Ladder is an interdisciplinary performance experience that pulls history forward while reimagining Black womanhood through choreography, video, photography, and sound.

Directed by Chania Wilson, the work centers Black women’s embodied knowledge as a living archive, where movement becomes a way of remembering, reframing, and imagining futures. Through tightly composed choreography and layered media, There Is a Ladder explores lineage, inheritance, and the quiet labor of becoming.
